Things You Can Do With A Broach

Broaches are the quickest forms of alterations, they are a kiss of sparkle that can punctuate almost any look.
I love a broach at the hip or waist, especially when the dress is simple,u can attach it the bust or lapel.

A jeweled broach can accent hair too,pin it through hair thats pulled back tightly into a pont tail or chignon.
You can also attach a broach to a ribbon or hair clip.

If u find yourself with an extra big dress and u find out that u must wear it,then u can cinch half of your dress on the back then pin the broach.

Always have a broach on hand, one jewelled or one in just a metal white or yellow .
It should be about two inches wide and not too complicated in design

Become Unique with These Simple Steps

Being unique results when one follows his or her own identity and doesn't give in to what society preaches as the "norm." Each and every one of us is born unique, but with time, society and culture tends to shape and form our opinions, styles and way of life. However, it isn't too late to break out of the mold.

    • 1.Remain true to yourself. Nothing is as unique as your own opinion and own personality.

    • 2

Invent your own personal style. Instead of going to the mall and local department stores, branch out to some niche boutiques or even your local thrift store. Mall-bought fashion is what everyone does. Go out on a whim and buy something different and unique.

    • 3

Educate yourself on current issues, both locally and globally. This way, you can hold your own unique opinion when people ask how you feel about certain issues or current events.

    • 4

Create a buzz with a new hair color or cut. Instead of getting the traditional bob, one-length hair trim or buzz cut, get a funky 'do with texturized layers. A dose of hair color or highlights can transform an average look into a very unique look.

    • 5

Follow your heart when it comes to your hobbies or interests. So what if playing the accordion is viewed as "geeky." If that activity makes your heart sing, that can make you glow as a person and make you even more unique.

    • 6

Release your personal insecurities. This is a key factor as to why many people conform-because they fear what others may think if they march to the beat of their own drums. Let go of the fear and embrace your own personal uniqueness.

How To Make Your Wedding Dress Look Unique

No matter what your style, it's important to be comfortable in your wedding dress. Although most women choose to wear white, it is still possible to make a white wedding dress unique and special. Here are some helpful hints to

make your wedding dress stand out from all the others.

1.Add a little color to your white dress. There is nothing wrong with replacing some of your dress' accents with color. If your dress has large white flowers, get them replaced with colorful posies. Add a colorful sash if your dress does not have flowers.
    • 2.Get the bottom of your dress dyed. If your dress is not too ornate, it might really spice things up if the bottom of it is a light blue or pale pink. Do not attempt to do this yourself...hire a professional!
    • 3Wear colorful, funky shoes. Instead of plain white pumps, have a little sparkle or color sticking out the bottom of your dress.

    • 4.Hire a costume designer to "build on" your dress. A professional can look at a piece and know exactly what to do to make it unique. Adding an accented line down your dress, or delicately placing jewels in designated places can all add a unique feel to your dress.
    • 5.Shorten your dress. Everyone will expect you to wear a long dress, so there is no harm in turning heads in a short little number!

Dressing Unique For Every Occassion

  • 1.Choose one piece in each outfit to be the focal point rather than trying to dress in unusual items from head to toe. Instead of wearing a brightly colored top, pants and an assortment of accessories, for example, pair a bold patterned top with neutral bottoms, plain shoes and a few coordinated accessories.

  • 2

Be sure the fit and shape of the garments flatter your figure. You may love the color or pattern of a piece of clothing, but it won't be as attractive if it looks out of proportion with your height, build or the top or bottom that it's paired with. Prints and metallic pieces draw the eye first, so consider wearing them where they'll highlight your best assets.

  • 3

Use metallic pieces sparingly since too much sparkle can throw your outfit off kilter. Try to balance two metallic items like a bold necklace and shoes or earrings and a collection of bangles, for example.

  • 4

Experiment with different looks online before you buy your outfits. Mix and match to discover which shirts, skirts, jackets, pants, shoes, bags and jewelry will combine to create a harmonious balance. (See Resources)
